In 1963 a devastating earthquake destroyed much of Skopje, killing over 1,000 people. The city was rebuilt over the following years, guided by a modernist plan led by Kenzo Tange.
In 2010, the then Macedonian (now North Macedonian) government launched Skopje 2014, an initiative to bring neoclassical grandeur to the capital.
I made this small book in 2024 while thinking about Skopje 1963 and Skopje 2014.
